Sara Powers

MSW, LSW

Sara is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with a passion for supporting the mental health of young people. Sara’s early experiences with impactful therapy, shaped a lifelong passion for the field. She deeply understands its value, seeing firsthand how it can change the course of one’s life for the best. A young child whose bright future lies ahead, may be most deserving of the wealth of knowledge the social work field provides.

Sara operates from a person-in-environment and strengths-based perspective, allowing her a deeper understanding of her clients and their environmental contexts. In order to provide the best possible care, Sara prioritizes working with each client’s supportive systems (their families and more) to address the whole child. Sara works to meet each child exactly where they are at and identify the best possible path forward. She ensures goals are specific and realistic so that clients feel confident in managing their progress.

Sara is specially trained in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), a trauma-informed modality. The NMT framework helps Sara enhance a client’s experience and individualize her treatment plans, providing opportunities for therapeutic experiences in everyday life (and outside the therapy room).

Sara enjoys working with clients of a variety of ages, ranging from young children to young adults. She works across a variety of evidence-based practices, including CBT, ACT, Play Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. She facilitates a collaborative, empathetic, and welcoming environment for all her clients. She’s dedicated to working with her clients to develop healthy coping skills that will set them up for a successful future.
